Stoke boss Tony Pulis does not expect the raucous atmosphere at the Britannia Stadium to pose many problems for Besiktas in Thursday night's Europa League Group E clash.
Plenty of teams have found the Potters' ground an intimidating place to play at and Manchester United on Saturday became the latest big-name side to drop points there. Having travelled to Turkey the next day to watch Besiktas in action, though, Pulis feels the Stoke faithful will have some job on their hands to intimidate the Istanbul outfit.
"They play in a volatile atmosphere every week over there, so it is second nature to them," Pulis told www.stokecityfc.com.
"I hope our supporters recreate the noise which helped us so much in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Manchester United, but it probably won't affect the opposition in the same way that it might do a lot of other teams who come here."
Pulis hopes Stoke can this week build on what he saw as one of the club's "great games" on Saturday.
The result brought United's 100% start to the Barclays Premier League season to an end and it was the first time the Potters had taken points off Sir Alex Ferguson's team since being promoted to the top flight in 2008.
It also meant Stoke have now lost only one of their 12 games in all competitions so far this term, and Pulis wants to see no let-up going into this evening's game and the Premier League trip to Swansea on Sunday.
"It was a great performance and we really enjoyed it," Pulis said.
"The crowd were amazing - it was one of the great games of the football club, in respect of the atmosphere and the commitment of the players of both Stoke City and Manchester United.
"But that is gone now and we have two massive games coming up. I think the biggest risk to us is complacency."
