Stoke manager Tony Pulis is reportedly preparing a £9million swoop for Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega as he wants "strong competition" up front.[LNB] The Potters have already broken their transfer record this summer after signing fellow forward Kenwyne Jones for £8million from Sunderland, and they are now looking to smash it once more.[LNB]Stoke only managed 34 goals in the Premier League last season and boss Pulis has targeted more firepower as he looks to improve their fortunes.[LNB]Rodallega, 25, started every game in the top-flight for the Latics last term and managed to bag himself 10 goals in the process.[LNB]With Wigan having now signed Mauro Boselli from Estudiantes, Roberto Martinez may be prepared to listen to offers for Rodallega and Pulis could get his man.[LNB]The Stoke gaffer said in the Daily Mirror: "We want to get four or five more players in. If the deal isn't right for us we won't do it.[LNB]"We need goals in our team and we also need strong competition among our strikers if we are to continue improving at this level."
