Potters Join IFA League

The Boothen Roar enters Stoke team in fans league This website has entered a team into the much respected Internet Football Assocaition league, representing Stoke City. A maximum of twenty league games are allowed per season, additional friendlies can be played, and all are arranged by the teams between themselves. There are over sixty sides in the league and a forum is set up for sides to contact each other. The games are 11-a-side and are played 45 minutes each way. A lot of games between two sides where the respective first team's are playing later on in the day. Games are generally played on Saturday mornings, kick offs arranged between sides with the afternoon's first team game in mind. Most sides charge each player between five and ten pounds per game so as to cover pitch and referee costs and help fund kits/training gear. There is also a three day cup competition that takes place in Leeds every July, it was last weekend, but the Potters team will no doubt take part in 2011. Numerous sides have already been in touch with the Potters over games and one has already been confirmed with City taking on FC Buxton on 23rd April, at home, ko 11am. We do not as yet have a pitch but contact has been made with several pitch owners regarding renting a pitch for this season. The club will be contacted as a lot of these clubs have bits of help financially and advertising/resource wise from their parent club. I was thinking of asking whether the club could guarantee away tickets for those who play in the games where we are playing away later on in the day. Obviously people will still have to pay but they'll be guaranteed a ticket. Maximum twenty tickets and I bet a lot of people would be going anyway so its not an awful lot to ask and might just keep interest up for certain games. When we have a team together training will be arranged. Other potential games so far are listed below: - Portly Vale(A) 18th September - Newcastle United(A) 25th September. Also been invited out at the night ready for the first team game on the Sunday. - Buxton(A) 30th October - Tranmere(A) 13th November - Crewe(H) No dates put forward yet - Crewe(A) No dates put forward yet - Port Vale(H) No dates put forward yet - West Brom(A) Probably on the day of 1st team game - West Brom(H) Probably on the day of 1st team game - Wolves(H) Probably on the day of 1st team game - Wolves(A) Probably on the day of 1st team game Many more games will no doubt be added, and the above ones confirmed in the short future Anybody wanting to know more, or wishing to put their name forward to play or manage the team please email this site using the contact me button or by emailing stokecityfcmad@aol.com
