Stoke chairman Peter Coates has confirmed the Potters are hoping to sign striker Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco on a year-long loan.[LNB] Gudjohnsen is keen on a move away from the Ligue 1 club after falling down the pecking order at Stade Louis II.[LNB]The 31-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Tottenham and scored in their 2-1 win at Stoke last season.[LNB]A permanent move to Spurs failed to materialise, but Stoke are now ready to offer the Iceland international a return to the Premier League. [LNB]"We have enquired about him," Coates told The Sentinel.[LNB]"We have talked about getting him on a 12-month loan because we think he could be a good player for 12 months, and maybe after that.[LNB]"But whether it happens or not, or how far we will get, we just don't know yet."[LNB]
