Potters Complete Striker Signing

City secure services of Ipswich man Walters Stoke have finally completed the deal to bring Jon Walters to the Potteries, signing the striker come winger from Ipswich Town for a fee of £3m. Walters, 26, has played a lot of his recent football on the right wing, but is primarily a striker, and will more than likely take up his position on the right hand side of midfield for the Potters, with new £8m signing Kenwyne Jones and talisman Ricardo Fuller set to play up front. Twice Ipswich player of the year Walters, who has also played for Blackburn, Bolton, Crewe, Barnsley, Scunthorpe, Hull, Wrexham and Chester, reportedly had a major fall out with Town boss Roy Keane on Friday, due to the reluctance of Keane to allow him to leave, which resulted in him being dropped from the team and stripped of the captaincy by the manager and told he would never play for the club again, a strange outcome to the argument. Walters, a Republic of Ireland B international, joins Florent Cuivelier, Carlo Nash and Kenwyne Jones as summer recruits by the Potters.
