Poll Result: Dramatic Late Strike Earns Goal Of The Month Win

13 October 2010 14:59
Huth winner comes top of poll City defender Robert Huth's strike against Aston Villa came out on top of the Goal of the Month award for August and September. The Potters scored twelve goals with all, minus James Perch own goal against Newcastle, listed in the poll. Only five of the eleven options received any votes with the season opener from Abdoulaye Faye, a header from a corner, Danny Higginbotham's diving header from a corner against Fulham and Kenwyne Jones equaliser against Newcastle, a header from a free kick this time, all coming in joint third. That left Jon Walters well taken goal against Blackburn, technically in October, and Robert Huth's dramatic injury time winner against Aston Villa and there was only one vote in it but the fact that Huth's goal saw the Potters claim their first win of the season with the last kick of the game sealed the poll win over the arguably technically better goal scored by Walters.
