Keeper Set To Throw Potters Into Turmoil

Begovic seeks Chelsea move Potters keeper Asmir Begovic is reported to have issued an ultimatum to City, make him number one or he'll leave for Chelsea. Begovic, 22, only joined the Potters in January, in a £3.25m move from Portsmouth but had to wait for an injury to regular number one Thomas Sorensen before getting his chance to impress. After replacing Sorensen at Stamford Bridge for his debut, and conceding five goals in a 7-0 defeat, he kept his place for the remainder of the season, with Sorensen ruled out with a dislocated elbow. Chelsea, obviously not put off by the goals the Bosnian conceded at the Bridge, have enquired this week about the keeper's availability but were quickly told 'no sale' by the Potters. It seems though that the enquiry may have turned the head of the clubs most expensive ever goalkeeper with newspaper reports this morning indicating he will demand a transfer to the Blues if he is not given the keepers jersey for the Potters opening game of the season, at Wolves on Saturday. If he does depart City are set to make a sizeable profit with fee's of upto £6m being banded about in the initial reports.
