Keane: Walters star of the future

Ipswich boss Roy Keane has hailed Jon Walters as a "player of Premier League quality" in the wake of reported interest from Stoke.[LNB] Stoke had a £3million bid rejected for Walters in 2008 and newspaper reports claim they could be lining up another offer for the 28-year-old this summer.[LNB]That speculation has arose since Potters' assistant Peter Reid was spotted at Portman Road on Sunday, although he could just have easily been checking out the highly-rated Connor Wickham.[LNB]Regardless of who Reid was there to look at, Town manager Keane is confident that Walters, who scored eight goals this season, could make the grade in the top flight.[LNB]"Jon deserves to be in the Premier League," said Keane. "He is a player of Premier League quality.[LNB]"He has done a terrific job for me in a difficult season. He has led by example. I've got so much time for Jon."
