Keane braced for Walters departure

Ipswich manager Roy Keane has admitted there is "a good chance" Jon Walters could leave for Stoke - but no bid has been accepted as of yet.[LNB] Walters is thought to have been seeking a move back to the north west for some time and Stoke have tried to land the former Chester frontman before.[LNB]The Potters are back in for the Ipswich skipper in this transfer window and Keane reckons Walters could finally make the move this summer, although he insists no bid has been accepted as of yet.[LNB]Keane said: "I've had lots of conversations with Stoke about Jon Walters, all summer.[LNB]"If they reach an offer that the owner feels is acceptable, then like every other player on the planet, there's a good chance he could leave.[LNB]"I think he will be with us for Saturday and if he were to leave it will be nearer the start of the Premier League season."[LNB]Keane expects transfer talks to continue next week and is realistic enough to know it will be hard to hold onto Walters.[LNB]"There's usually fun and games with negotiations, particularly with certain clubs and particularly with certain managers, so I'd expect this one to drag on a little longer," added the Irishman.[LNB]"Jon's aware of it, and it's hard to stop a player when he has an opportunity to play in the Premiership but the player is also under contract here.[LNB]"It's like any other player. We've had offers for some other players at the club which we've turned down.[LNB]"As much as people have been disappointed we've not added much to the squad, it's just as important that we hang to people like Jon for as long as we can.[LNB]"But I do live in the real world, and if an offer comes in, we have to look at it."
