James Beattie faces uncertain future at Stoke despite returning to full fitness

Stoke manager Tony Pulis appears to have ruled out the possibility of a return for striker James Beattie this weekend.[LNB]The 32-year-old former England forward has not played for seven weeks due to a knee injury which required surgery.[LNB]He played a full 90 minutes for the reserves earlier this week but Pulis is still unlikely to include him in his squad for Sunday's Barclays Premier League trip to Wolves.[LNB] Pottering along: James Beattie has been out with a knee injury but turned out for the second-string earlier this week[LNB]With a fitness doubt over striker Ricardo Fuller, that will do little to quell speculation over Beattie's future at the Britannia Stadium.[LNB]That has seemed uncertain since a high-profile row between the player and Pulis in the dressing room at Arsenal last December.[LNB]Clash: Beattie allegedly clashed with manager Tony Pulis in the dressing room at Emirates Stadium[LNB]Pulis said: 'He played in a reserve game on Tuesday and looked a little bit short to be honest. The lad Louis Moult has been on the bench. If Ric is not fit I will most probably go with Louis.[LNB]'He has done really well and scored a lot of goals in the reserves and did well again the other night.'[LNB]Fuller is the Potters' chief concern ahead of the trip to Molineux due to an ankle injury.[LNB]The Jamaica international has scored in the last two matches but was forced off at half-time at Hull on Saturday.[LNB]Pulis said: 'The only worry we have got is Ricardo, he is still bit sore.' [LNB]There have been suggestions the Sunday's clash might be a good one for the 30-year-old to miss anyway because a booking would result in a two-match suspension.[LNB]Fuller has received nine yellow cards this season but not playing would remove the threat of a ban as an amnesty comes into force next week.[LNB]Pulis, however, is unlikely to take that issue into consideration in his selection.[LNB]Pulis said: 'I will speak to Ric on Saturday, I will see how he feels. If he is fit and he wants to play and wants to start, then we will make a decision then.' [LNB] James Beattie looking to end Stoke career in a blaze of gloryBeattie embroiled in grievance claim with Stoke over clash with boss PulisStoke City 0 Aston Villa 0: Pulis plays down Tuncay's temper tantrumStriker Beattie beaten by knee injury as Stoke career looks overIreland's Lawrence could quit Stoke in summer to boost international careerSTOKE CITY FC
