Higginbotham joins Ipswich
Ipswich have signed Danny Higginbotham on a month-long loan deal from Stoke.
The 33-year-old ends manager Paul Jewell's lengthy search for defensive reinforcements, in the short-term at least, and goes straight into Town's squad for their home clash against Charlton on Saturday.
"We have been trying to add to our options at the back for a while and Danny has been on our radar through the summer," Jewell told the club's official website.
"He will bring a wealth of experience to the squad and we're obviously delighted to have him with us."
Higginbotham started his career with Manchester United before moves to Derby, Southampton, Stoke, Sunderland and a return to the Britannia Stadium. He spent three months on loan in the Championship with Nottingham Forest last term.
