Stoke have reached an agreement with Monaco for the season-long loan of Eidur Gudjohnsen. The former Chelsea and Barcelona striker, who spent last season on loan at Tottenham, is currently having discussions at the Britannia Stadium. If the 31-year-old were to sign he would be the second deadline day capture for the Potters with possibly more to come. Former midfielder Salif Diao, whose contract expired at the end of last season, has re-joined the club on a two-year deal while Stoke are also in discussions with Portsmouth's Marc Wilson. In addition to his new contract the 33-year-old Senegalese will also take on an ambassadorial role for the club in Africa and other parts of the world.
