Maurice Edu is "very excited" to have completed his move to Stoke and could be included in their squad to face Wigan on Saturday.
The Potters revealed last Saturday that they had agreed personal terms with Edu and were looking to bring him into the Britannia Stadium.
Tony Pulis made his move for the 26-year-old after seeing him become embroiled in the financial troubles at Rangers.
The Old Firm outfit have been forced to part with a number of senior stars after they rejected the chance to transfer their contracts to the newco at Ibrox.
It has taken longer than anticipated for an agreement for Edu to be completed, but he was at Stoke's training ground on Friday to put the finishing touches to a switch.
Edu told Sky Sports News: "I'm very excited. I've always been a fan of the Premier League and now I have that opportunity, so I'm just looking forward to it."
With regard to the lengthy work permit procedure, he added: "That is how it goes sometimes - sometimes things take a little longer, but it's all done now."
Stoke later confirmed via their official Twitter feed that Edu, who will take the number 13, was signed in time to be included in the squad which travels to Wigan on Saturday.
