Celtic are closing on the capture of South Korean World Cup star Cha Du-ri and set to up their bid for Stoke midfielder Liam Lawrence.[LNB] Cha, 29, revealed yesterday that he is flying in to Glasgow for a medical for the Parkhead club. The right-back has a year left on his contract at Freiburg and is available for around £500,000.[LNB]He was quoted as saying: "On Tuesday I fly to Glasgow to undergo a medical check.[LNB]"Then I will take two weeks vacation in South Korea."[LNB]If talks are successful, the former Bayer Leverkusen player will join up at Parkhead with international team Ki Sung-yueng as Hoops manager Neil Lennon begins the refurbishment of his squad ahead of the new season.[LNB]Former Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew is reportedly set to re-join from Aberdeen after Sheffield United pulled out of the race to sign him, while a deal for Lawrence could also be struck this week.[LNB]Stoke rejected the Hoops' initial offer of around £1.5million but a bid of £2million would persuade the Potters to sell the Ireland winger, who has also revealed he wants to move to Parkhead.[LNB]One player that Lennon looks set to miss out on, however, is Cardiff's Joe Ledley, who is expected to join Stoke later this week.[LNB]
