Bullish Beattie keeps the faith

James Beattie is confident he is the man to fire Stoke to a top-10 finish this season. The former England striker has yet to score this term and missed the weekend victory over Sunderland after suffering a knee injury in the Potters' previous game against Birmingham. Beattie scored seven league goals last season following his arrival from Sheffield United in the January transfer window. And he told the Sentinel: "I have always had confidence in my ability. I'll score goals when I'm playing, there's no doubt about that. "As an individual, and as part of the team, you start every season wanting to do better than the one before, and the gaffer has made a big point about that. "And I'm confident I'll score more goals than last time as I'll be here for a full season."
