Stoke striker James Beattie is eyeing a return to first-team action before the end of the Premier League season.[LNB] The 32-year-old completed 90 minutes in a reserve game with West Ham on Tuesday evening after suffering from a knee injury that has kept him out of action since February's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.[LNB]The former Everton man underwent surgery on the problem towards the end of March and now wants to figure in Tony Pulis' plans for the season's remaining fixtures.[LNB]The Potters have six games left to play and virtually secured their Premier League status by defeating struggling Hull City on Saturday.[LNB]Beattie told the Stoke Sentinel: "It was good to play the full game and the knee feels fine. Hopefully I can force my way back into the first-team in these last six games."[LNB]Beattie's future at the club had been put into doubt earlier in the season following a reported bust-up with manager Tony Pulis, however he has taken the opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the Potters' cause.[LNB]"I'm a Stoke player and as long as that is the case I'll continue to do my best for the club," he added.
