6 years ago today: Sweeney Fee Decided

07 September 2011 18:50
Stoke receive a £150,000 bill for winger Peter Sweeney, which could potenitally rise to £275,000 depending on appearences and international honours After Millwall's demands of a lucrative £1,000,000 The Potters will be relieved that the fee decided by a Transfer Tribunal came out a considerable amount lower. The Potters will have to open the chequebook to give an initial £150,000 to the London club, and will have to pay a further £100,000 based on appearances (£25,000 fees after the Scot plays 15, 30, 45 and 60 games) A futher £25,000 will also be granted to the Lions upon Sweeney's first full Scotland Cap as will 15% of any future transfer fee.Money well spent? Currentlly (we hope!) coming to the end of a 3 month lay off, it shouldn't be long before Potters fans can judge for themselves - However he may struggle to break into a side abundant with wide men, especially after the performances of Harper, Kollar and Chadwick against Norwich
