Ward pleased with Hatters recovery

Craig Mackail-Smith's 25th minute goal gave the home side the advantage as depleted Stockport struggled to settle. But they produced a better showing after the break giving Ward some cause for optimism, especially as he felt his side were denied a certain penalty late in the game. "We got over-run in the first half but our second-half performance deserved something and we are disappointed not to get it, especially after what happened at the end," he said. "We changed things tactically and got ourselves back into the game."
