Ward: We deserved Latics defeat

Danny Whitaker and Lee Hughes put Oldham in control and despite pulling a goal back through Oli Johnson, Chris Taylor's strike condemned the Hatters to a comprehensive defeat. Manager Jim Gannon refused to comment but Ward said: "Oldham put a lot of pressure on us early in the game and the better team won. "They did not let us find a rhythm and they forced us into making mistakes which they capitalised on. "We had too many players not taking responsibility. They need to look at themselves because we lost too many battles. "We have some excellent footballers but teams do not just let you play. Oldham got on top of us and had a point to prove after their result at Hereford last week."
