Tired Hatters worry Gannon

Stockport County boss Jim Gannon admitted that his side had looked jaded in their 2-1 defeat at Scunthorpe United.

The Hatters dropped four points off the play-off pace by slipping to defeat at Glanford Park, but Gannon had few complaints.

He told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph: "We knew Scunthorpe were going to be high-tempo and aggressive in their running and passing.

"I felt we had weaknesses in our team though and unfortunately they were exposed. I think the number of games we're having to play is catching up with us.

"We're a young side and it's a tall order. Game after game is always tough and I thought we maybe looked a little bit jaded.

"I wish I could rest them and protect them, but unfortunately we've got to work through it.

"When we come out of this period though, they'll be better players for it."
