Young Liverpool defender James Smith hopes to return to Stockport County on a permanent basis in the future after his loan spell with the League Two side came to an end.
Smith originally moved to the Hatters as an emergency loan player for a month before Liverpool allowed it to be extended to 93 days, the maximum stay for an emergency loan signing.
The 22-year-old made ten starts during his time at County, and told the club's official website how much he enjoyed his stay at Edgeley Park.
He said: "It's been brilliant, I've loved my time here, I'm just a bit gutted it's been cut short.
"I thought I was here until January myself but when I went to sign the extension it could only go to 93 days. I'll just get my head down until January and see what happens from there."
Smith, who has made one first-team appearance for Liverpool, added: "I'm looking for a permanent move and I've loved my time here so I don't see why not if I can come to an agreement."
