Simpson: My hands are tied

Paul Simpson admits he "can't do anything" to avert Stockport's downward spiral due to poor decisions made under the club's former administrators. The Hatters boss has hit out at administrators Leonard Curtis for offering deals to out-of-contract players before the 2015 Group's takeover of the club.Simpson says such players take up a large chunk of the playing budget and hugely limit his ability to make a change to Stockport's threadbare squad."We can't do anything," he told the Manchester Evening News. "We've got absolutely no funds available to change things."We've got players in the football club who are used to losing games of football but because of what the administrator did by giving contracts to everybody we can't change anything."As much as I would like to do something, we can't. We've got to work with the ones we've got. We've got to try to lift them and we've got to get them to realise the importance of doing things properly."
