Seagulls chief set for Gannon talks

Knight, seeking a replacement for Micky Adams, is meeting the Stockport boss and is also having talks with another unnamed candidate. Brighton have already received permission from Stockport chairman Martin Reid to speak to Gannon and Knight said: "Jim is a very bright up-and-coming manager and is a genuine contender. "He has been a very good manager for Stockport on a small budget and I'll do my best to persuade him. But it's a long way from being a done thing. I've got two or three candidates and I'll see them all." Speaking after Brighton's 1-1 home draw with Northampton, Knight added: "We've got a very good list of people - exactly the kind we want - and I'm seeing two of them on Wednesday."
