Liverpool have extended Stockport County's 16-year-old defender James Tunnicliffe's trial spell to allow boss Rafa Benitez to take a closer look at him.
The highly-rated youngster has impressed the European champions' coaching staff, prompting Benitez to keep him on Merseyside longer so he can see him at first-hand.
Benitez was away for much of last week due to the Reds' Champions League clash away to Anderlecht.
It is believed, according to Stockport's official website, that a deal which could earn them up to £750,000 has been agreed between the two sides.
