No County stay for Malcolm

Stockport County manager Jim Gannon has decided not to retain the services of Michael Malcolm.

The 21-year-old has made 47 appearances for the club but spent most of this season on the substitute's bench.

"Michael was the only one desperate to know early because he moved out of his apartment, so we told him we wouldn't be retaining him for next season," Gannon told the club's official website.

"I've had a chance to speak to Keith Briggs, Michael Bowler and Damien Allen but those matters are yet to be resolved.

"It looks like we'll be offering Keith Briggs and Michael Bowler short-term contracts to get themselves back fit first, because it would be unfair to release them at this stage."
