McGuire quits Hatters post

Stockport County's managing director Mark Maguire has tendered his resignation and left the League One club with immediate effect.

The Hatters board of directors and other staff will oversee Maguire's duties while they seek a permanent successor.

Maguire had been in the role at the cash-strapped club since 2007.

A club statement read: "Stockport County would like to thank Mark for all his hard work and wish him all the best in the future."
