Le Fondre relief for County

Stockport County officials were relieved to discover Adam Le Fondre did not suffer a broken leg during Saturday's 3-1 win at Rochdale.

The Hatters' medical staff had feared the worst when the 19-year-old striker was stretchered off shortly before half-time following a bad tackle by Nathan Stanton.

However, tests have revealed the injury is not as serious as initially thought and Le Fondre could even be fit to face Lincoln City next weekend.

County physio Rodger Wylde told the club's official website: "My first thought on Saturday was that Alfy had damaged his tibia but the injury isn't as bad as we feared.

"He will have an X-ray later today to check that he's not broken a small bone in his foot but it's only a precaution, I'm expecting everything to come back okay.

"His leg is still swollen and quite sore but there's a good chance that he'll be all right for the weekend."
