Lack of belief cost us - Simpson

Stockport boss Paul Simpson claimed his side lacked the belief to cause an upset against npower League One promotion hopefuls Peterborough in the FA Cup first round replay.Goals from Kelvin Langmead, Craig Mackail-Smith, Lee Tomlin and Aaron McLean ensured Posh ran out 4-1 winners, with Greg Tansy netting a consolation for League Two side Stockport.Simpson said: "I don't think we believed we could get anything out of the game even though we showed in the first half that we were quite capable of creating scoring chances."We never really had the desire to go and throw ourselves at things either and that has to be a disappointment. But we came up against a team who possess two forwards capable of causing chaos and tearing defences apart at the next level up, let alone against us."Peterborough came into the game in something of a bad run though and you could sense the fans were starting to turn but we gave them all a lift by allowing Peterborough to score two really easy goals as we started the second half absolutely rubbish."We did get ourselves going after making a couple of changes but it was a case of too little, too late in all honesty."
