Hundreds walk in soldiers memory

Hundreds of people have taken part in a charity walk in memory of a British soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.Fusilier Simon Annis, 22, from Salford, died in August while trying to rescue his section commander after an explosion in Helmand province. He was laid to rest after a military funeral in Irlam in September. The 15 mile sponsored walk between Cadishead, Salford, and Warrington - where Fusilier Annis went to school - took place on Saturday. His family organised the walk to raise.... read more
