Hatters win pleases Gannon

Stockport County manager Jim Gannon was pleased to see his side maintain their play-off push with a hard-fought 1-0 win over rock-bottom Cheltenham Town.

An Oli Johnson strike proved decisive at Edgeley Park, with Gannon relieved by a three-point return.

He said: "It's good to get three points on the board, the players worked hard.

"I've said all season there are no easy games so, even though Cheltenham have been struggling, I asked for a strong performance from the players.

"It was a good win, although it would have been nice to have scored a few more goals.

"We could have scored more but we didn't take our chances. Sometimes you have to grind out results and get the points."
