Hatters win delights Gannon

Stockport County boss Jim Gannon was full of praise for his players after they saw off Macclesfield Town 2-0 to boost their promotion push further.

Two goals from Jason Taylor were enough for the Hatters at Edgeley Park, with Gannon enjoying a comfortable victory.

He said: "Macclesfield created a couple of half-chances in the game, but overall the lads defended solidly and strongly once again.

"All the lads were on form. There were a lot of top performances right across the pitch."

Included in the Hatters squad on Friday was young striker Johann Smith, who has joined the in-form League Two side on loan from Bolton Wanderers.
