Hatters move pleases Baker

Midfielder Carl Baker is looking forward to playing in League One after completing his transfer from Morecambe to Stockport County.

The 25-year-old, who only moved to Christie Park from Southport last summer, has been signed by the Hatters for a fee that could eventually rise to £225,000.

After penning a three-year contract at Edgeley Park, Baker said: "When I heard Stockport were in for me it gave me a big lift because I wanted to come here.

"I enjoyed playing against Stockport last season and, although Morecambe won it, they were one of the best teams we played and had a big following, so it was nice to get a couple of goals."
