Hatters hope over Raynes

Stockport County believe skipper Michael Raynes could return from a hamstring injury ahead of schedule.

The 21-year-old defender was expected to be missing for six weeks after limping out of last week's FA Cup second round replay defeat to Gillingham.

"This time it's his left hamstring as opposed to the right leg he suffered with last time," said Hatters' assistant manager Peter Ward.

"He could be back in around four weeks all being well but, having said that, we won't be rushing him back.

"It's a bitter blow, but Michael is professional enough to get on with his recovery. He's well into that recovery process already."
