Hatters boss praises sides spirit

Published: 01 Mar 2009 - 15:32:18

Michael Collins' first-half strike looked to have given the Terriers all three points at Edgeley Park, but as the clock ticked towards stoppage-time, Huddersfield defender Nathan Clarke could only divert Leon McSweeney's angled drive past the helpless Alex Smithies. Gannon said: "I felt we deserved something out of the game, there wasn't an awful lot between the two sides. "The lads stuck to their task and played right to the final whistle so I was pleased about that. You can't play on that pitch though, it is difficult. "I was a little disappointed that we didn't switch the play more at times, we could have played better despite the conditions, but I was pleased with the reaction and the way we came back to earn a point."
