Gannon picked up by Hatters win

Published: 22 Feb 2009 - 17:39:40

County took the lead after six minutes through midfielder Dominic Blizzard but the hosts hit back courtesy of Lewis Neal, before striker Tommy Rowe scored the decisive goal to give Stockport a valuable three points. Gannon has not been on top form this week but he was impressed with his men's efforts against the Cumbrians. He said: "It was a fantastic game and both teams created loads of opportunities. The lads worked really hard and took their chances. "We threatened sporadically in the first half and our defensive shape was excellent. This is a tough place to come and it's a good result. "I have been under the weather this week and this was a great tonic. I didn't feel too great but it was nice to watch such a good performance."
