Gannon keeps his spirits high

Stockport County boss Jim Gannon was not too distraught about his side losing their unbeaten away record in the 1-0 loss at Millwall.

The Hatters' excellent start to the campaign has been based on their good form away from Edgeley Park but Gannon was not too despondent with the setback.

He said: "The away run still shows won four games and three draws.

"The run has gone, but the lads have been fantastic on the road. The lads put in a fantastic performance and perhaps didn't deserve the result. It's a tough place to come with the atmosphere.

"We created a number of chances and it was just disappointing that we didn't come away with a goal to show for all that effort.

"It shows how far we've come that we're disappointed that we didn't get a result."
