Stockport County boss Jim Gannon praised his side's determination after they secured a 1-1 draw at Chester City.

David Poole's opener was cancelled out by Jon Walters, but Gannon was content with a share of the spoils.

He said: "We played some excellent stuff in the first half and they couldn't contain us. In the second half Chester came out strong, but we were resilient.

"This is a tough place to play, so I am pleased that we were able to get something out of the game.

"The turning point for us was the injury to Rob Clare at half-time which forced us to reshuffle, but we showed great resilience. The backbone of the team was really strong."
