County's takeover talks stall

Stockport County's future has once again been placed in doubt after it was revealed that the proposed takeover of the club by Jim Melrose has not yet been finalised.
The Hatters currently have no board, no manager, no ground and a depleted squad but the deal has stalled as Melrose has not been given the green light to proceed by Edgeley Park owners Sale Sharks.
The club's administrators, Leonard Curtis, said almost a fortnight ago that Melrose had begun discussions with the Sharks, but an agreement is still to be reached.
It is believed that if Melrose's takeover is successful, he will re-instate former boss Jim Gannon, who was sacked last month.
