County capture Elding

Stockport County manager Jim Gannon has strengthened his squad by capturing Boston United striker Anthony Elding.

The 24-year-old moves to Edgeley Park for an undisclosed five-figure fee and will remain with the Hatters until the end of the 2008-09 campaign.

"When I knew County were in for me I was over the moon, because I know they are a big club going places and I want to be part of that," Elding told Stockport's official website.

Elding scored five goals in 19 League Two appearances for Boston this term.

It was his second spell with the Pilgrims, after scoring six goals in 16 starts for the club before moving to Stevenage Borough in February 2003.

He scored an impressive 50 goals in only 106 appearances for the Conference side, before returning to Boston at the start of this season.
