Ablett owns up to send-off mistake

Published: 06 Sep 2009 - 15:30:34

Ablett was sent to the stands at Elland Road on Saturday following the altercation but denied swearing at the official and claimed Leeds' second goal should have been disallowed for a foul on goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams. "I have to admit I did swear but I didn't swear at the referee. It was disappointing but if I expect my players to abide by what I say to them I have to do that myself. I let the players down," said Ablett. "Leeds' second goal came at a very important time for us. Nine times out of ten referees favour the goalkeeper. I went down the tunnel and told him of my disappointment. I was told of my sending-off by a third party. The ref never said anything to me at all."
