Ablett determined to succeed

Stockport County's new boss Gary Ablett is determined to see the club progress next season, despite their recent off-field problems.

The Hatters have seen a number of players depart after the club fell into administration towards the end of last season, but Ablett is keen to look forwards.

He said: "When offered the job I had no hesitations. It's an attractive job.

"We've got some good young players and there's a chance to work from a blank canvas because of what the club has been through, so the onus is on us to make sure we get it right.

"The reason I've come here with the consortium is to take the club forward. How far we can take the club will depend on the quality I can bring personally and the quality of the players that are here.

"The club has come out of administration and it's been stripped of its dignity, but that's something we're looking to put right in the coming months."
