Ablett: This was a winnable game

The hosts, still rooted to the bottom of League One, created the lion's share of the opportunities but found Gills' goalkeeper Alan Julian in inspirational form. "We felt before the game that Gillingham were vulnerable away from home. We certainly started well and created some good early pressure but we lost our way a little bit as the first half wore on," said Ablett. "We started the second half promisingly and their goalkeeper made at least a couple of excellent saves. Maybe it wasn't meant for us though. "I'm disappointed because I felt this was a winnable game for us. Having said that I'm not going to criticise the players at all. Once again they were immense at times so I'm not annoyed with them. "Two months ago we would probably have gone on and lost a game like this, but at least it's a point for us. "Maybe we could have worked their goalkeeper a bit more, but it's all ifs and buts in football. We certainly got at them but it just wasn't to be I guess. I can't ask for any more from the players though."
