Several clubs have expressed an interest in Williams and a number of County's other talented youngsters. Yet the Edgeley Park outfit are in a far more stable position since coming out of administration and being taken over by the Melrose consortium. Ablett told the Stockport Express: "We're getting interest for a lot of our younger players every day. "We've had interest for Owain fon Williams, but we're in the position now that we don't have to sell because we don't need the money. "Clubs are coming in thinking they can buy players on the cheap because we're in need of the money but we're not."
