Ward `devastated` by draw

Stockport caretaker manager Peter Ward was left "devastated" after his side blew a 3-1 lead with five minutes to go to draw 3-3 with Rotherham. Ishmel Demontagnac fired Stockport ahead but Kevin Ellison levelled a minute later. Anthony Elding missed a penalty after Adam Le Fondre handled in the area before Stephen Husband scored a brace to give the home side a two-goal advantage. The Millers were given hope when County defender Matthew Grieve headed into his own net, then, as the game entered stoppage-time, Ryan Taylor glanced in a header to snatch a point. Ward said: "I'm devastated for the lads. That was probably the best 90 minutes we've put in all season. We had the game by the scruff of the neck going into those final few minutes, but we just couldn't hang on. "Rotherham are not second in the table for nothing, they played some good stuff and they are a quality side. We've got to start matching the passion of our fans though. They are special here and although there weren't that many in, they're always very loud and very vocal. "If you create a good tempo, the fans will always get right behind you and give you a lift you need. All the lads gave 100% though. It was an excellent team performance, but it's only one performance. There's still 21 league games to go so we just need to try and build on this now."
