Turnbull double spares Hatters

A sensational double strike by midfielder Paul Turnbull gave Stockport County a point in a 2-2 home draw against Aldershot after his team had looked dead and buried. In a first half where the visitors were much the better side, the Hatters went 2-0 behind within 38 minutes as the Shots doubled their away goal tally for the season. Following constant pressure on the Hatters' goal, the visitors went ahead after 27 minutes when Marvin Morgan beat the offside trap and turned the ball back expertly from the by-line for Anthony Straker to side-foot into an open net. Morgan, whose place had been under threat because of a lack of goals, was now proving a handful for the Stockport defence and finally made the scoresheet in the 38th minute when he slotted home after good work by Glen Little. Turnbull's first came in the 73rd minute when he headed in substitute Jake Simpson's cross and his equaliser came less than 10 minutes later with a superb chip over the goalkeeper from the edge of the 18-yard box.
