Stockport skipper Danny Swailes is relishing the prospect of leading the club this season and believes the future is bright under new boss Paul Simpson. Simpson was appointed earlier this summer and has made five new signings as County bid to bounce straight back into League One. The Edgeley Park outfit were relegated last season after a nightmare campaign but Swailes, who has been handed the armband by Simpson, is confident of an upturn in fortunes. The defender told Press Association Sport: "The honour of being named club captain, for the first time in my professional career, is one I take great pride in and one I hope to do justice to. "The new gaffer has worked really well in the short time he has been here. "His philosophy of solid defensive play, allied with good ball retention and good wide play, has been like a breath of fresh air, especially to those of us that endured such a torrid time towards the end of last season."
