Simpson wants changes at County
Stockport manager Paul Simpson is determined to change the ethos of the club after his former side Shrewsbury recorded a 4-0 win at Edgeley Park.
Goals from Jake Robinson, Matt Harrold and a second-half brace from Mark Wright ensured the Shrews extended their unbeaten start to the League Two season. County, meanwhile, are winless and second from bottom, leaving Simpson less than impressed with the "comical" defending by his players.
He said: "Shrewsbury are a good, organised side. They've got a squad of experienced players. They had a desire that unfortunately we didn't have.
"But these goals are killing. They were just rubbish goals that we've given away. Some of the goals we are conceding are comical. It doesn't matter what level of football you play at, you can't give away comical goals.
"I want to do things properly but unfortunately there's a rot inside this football club. We've got to change things and got to change them quickly. We need to address the problems at this football club and get a mentality that can grind out results. We know it's going to be a long, hard slog this season but we've got to give ourselves a chance.
"The fans were absolutely magnificent but we were embarrassing. We can't change anything because of what the administrator did. We've got no money, so we have to work with what we've got."
