Simpson to do battle on tight resources

Stockport boss Paul Simpson has admitted there are unlikely to be any new signings during the January transfer window. County have little cash to spend as they bid to climb the table but one player Simpson is desperate to snap up is striker George Donnelly, whose loan deal expires next month. "We've got to work with what we've got," said Simpson. "The squad will be the same now until January and even then, I don't think very much is going to change to allow us to bring anyone in. "I had a chat with George just to see what was going through his mind. I've told him I'd love to keep him but that will be dictated by finances and he still doesn't know whether or not he will be going back to Plymouth."
