Simpson slams crestfallen County

Stockport manager Paul Simpson was left to dwell on a "real spanking" following the 5-0 defeat against Hereford. The Bulls made light of their poor start of the season to crush County thanks to a brace Rob Purdie, an own goal from Matt Glennon and further strikes from Mathieu Manset and Stuart Fleetwood. Simpson said: "We've been beaten by a team that have done the simple things properly. They defended for their lives and we've had a real spanking. "We haven't dealt with [Kenny] Lunt playing in that hole just off the big fella Manset. As a team you've got to be organised and get people screaming, but unfortunately we haven't done. "The frustrating thing is that over the last two games we've defended with our lives. We've talked about working hard to get clean sheets and we did the opposite. "Early on in the season I thought we overplayed it but we had chances to take extra touches but we just looked a complete bag of nerves."
