Ablett was reserve team boss at Anfield, but parted company with the Premier League club in May as part of a reshuffle by boss Rafael Benitez. The former Liverpool and Everton defender told the Stockport Express: "I honestly don't think I was ever given a a good enough reason as to why they made the decision. "They made the decision that they wanted to make but I'm quite happy that while I was there we had the best reserve team in the country. "My job was to provide Rafael Benitez with players he could call on for the first team and I did that. But what's happened has happened and it's happened for a reason. "I think I've taken a step forward coming here to manage County and it's a job I'm thoroughly looking forward to doing."
